Always smiling down in San Diego, JD is that that big-eared, red-bearded dude packin’ a Canon and a Cookies Jar full of chronic. A son and a brother, a husband and a father, a writer, a photographer, a coach, a sales guru, he seems to remind a lot of people of an old friend who they haven’t seen in way too long. His father named him Jack Daniel, but he’ll rarely touch the stuff, although he’s quick to admit that he is pretty much down for whatever…as long as there is a smart discussion during, and a story to tell after. Jack killed cancer with Master Kush in 2010, and has been writing about the cannabis culture, both in print and across the web, ever since.

Jeremy grew up throughout the Southeastern United States, and moved to the Tampa Bay area 10 years ago to raise a family. His background is varied, with experience in the service industry and a heavy focus on information technology. After becoming inspired by the medical situation his father faced, he developed the framework for Medical Marijuana Tampa. Seeing an opportunity to create a world-wide destination for medical cannabis related education in Florida, he incorporated the business in May of 2013 and started offering classes at the beginning of 2014. In the first six months alone, nearly 1000 students have received education at MMT, and Jeremy looks forward to many more coming to visit. You can typically find him knee-deep in spreadsheets, though he enjoys taking the time to speak with anyone who stops by the office to ‘talk shop’. He enjoys travel, photography, discussing philosophy and wine tasting.

Julie Monteiro is the sole owner for Medical Cannalyst Consulting Group LLC. MCCG provides consulting, public relations and educational services for clients on emerging issues surrounding SB 374 by ensuring compliance and business continuity efforts. Mrs. Monteiro merges an extensive background in the Nevada nursing community as a licensed Registered Nurse with the newly developing and rapidly growing field of medical cannabis. By focusing on facilitating educational services within medical cannabis establishments and modeling current State regulations for employees, patients, and the community, her vision is to advocate the proper use of medical cannabis and promote awareness. With a well versed knowledgebase regarding cultivation, production, and dispensary operations, she brings a wealth of information for organizations requiring seed-to-sale oversight. Community involvement and patient advocacy is also at the forefront of Mrs. Monteiro’s vision. Her instrumental roles in a wide-array of community development projects through W.E.C.A.N., Patient-to-Patient, Las Vegas NORML, and several other organizations played a large part in building community relations and the framework leading up to the implementation of current laws we see coming into fruition today. Her commitment to compassionate care for patients is central to her cause and positioning within the community. As a professional nurse, she views medical cannabis as a natural therapeutic alternative to conventional western medicine pharmaceuticals. By having a strong physiological and pharmacology background, she is well equipped to educate patients in a compassionate manner and explain how medical cannabis can be integrated as a treatment plan in the patient’s current medical plan with their provider(s) and the dispensary. Furthermore, her ability to consult with patient providers and physicians directly while carrying out provider recommendations, provides a streamlined process while ensuring that all needs of a patient are met and respected under HIPPA guidelines. Her prior registered nursing positions include: Orthopedics and Sports Medicine – Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County, Wyoming Pre and Post-Op at Centennial Surgery Center Pain Relief Network Emergency Medicine, Intensive, Intermediate and Pre-Op at Summerlin Hospital Adult and Pediatric ER/Trauma at Sunrise Children’s Hospital Adult ER/Nursery-Post OBGYN at Centennial Hills Hospital Medical Center Peds ER and Trauma at UMC Hospital Mrs. Monteiro also has extensive Government experience while working for the State of Wyoming Department of Disabilities Division as a residential home-health rehabilitator. Her commitment to the highest ethical standards from her background supports a developing vision for patient healing and civil rights for access to cannabis related solutions. Mrs. Monteiro’s mission is to manifest and maintain a leadership role in the Nevada cannabis community as a licensed medical professional, cannabis nurse educator, medical cannabis advocate, and business owner. She feels that this the broadest approach to helping the most people possible while medical cannabis serves as the cure and answer to western medicine’s surge of growing patient population’s needs as a whole. It is her goal and continued dedication to educate the people, assist with their continued medical needs, provide safe access, decrease NV-MMPs arrests and family disruptions, improve inadequately written laws, influence Nevada’s legislation needs, and promote education and research.
